Know about the Bangladesh
On the 26th March, 1971
a new nation was born.
On this historic day
the people of Bangladesh proclaimed independence
and established a sovereign state.
Former East Pakistan now constitutes the area of Bangladesh.
She has adopted her own flag and national anthem.

The National Anthem is the first ten line of the poem,
"Amar sonar bangla" by Tagore.
Bengali is the state language and shapla is the national flower of Bangladesh.
The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka.
The inhabitants are mostly Muslims.
Besides, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians
and various tribes live in this country .
Bangladesh hs a glorious past
and a promising future.
In the twelfth century we find the Sena Kings ruling
the whole of Bengal.
Towards the close of that century they were swept away
by Mohammadan conquerors.
The last Sena King held his court at Nabadwip when the town
was attacked by Bakhtiyar Khilji.
The weak Sena king fled away from his capital without putting any resistance to the marching army of Khilji.
Bakhtiyar Khilji then went on to Gour,
and established his capital there.
After Bakhtiyar, a number of independent Muslim kings ruled the country until they were subjugated by the Mughals.
During the first century of Mughal rule,
there were twenty-two different Governors of Bengal,
and the capital was moved more than once.
During the Mughal rule the people of Bengal were happy and prosperous.
Revenue of Bengal was enormous.
According to the noted French traveler, Ta-vernier, it amounted to 5,500,000 rupees after all the charges were met.
Bangladesh has common border with Burma on the south-east
on its west lies West Bengal and on the north lies Assam.
It covers an area of 54,000 square miles and has a population of ten million.
